Terry Boerboom (Minnesota Geological Survey) and Mark Smyk (Ontario Geological Survey). The committee is working hard to pull together a great meeting, which will include field trips on both sides of the border. Banquet Speaker
This year the banquet speaker will be Dr Bevan M. French from the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC. Bevan is a petrologist, planetary geologist, writer and lecturer about earth and extraterrestrial science. His pioneering work with NASA helped identify the unique shock-deformation effects of meteorite impact, which resulted in the recognition of numerous terrestrial impact craters. One of those craters, most appropriately for this group, is the Sudbury Impact Structure.
Field trips
Details of the field trips planned for the 2010 meeting can be found here. Please note that although the meeting is based on the US side of the border many of the trips will be in Canada so you will need a valid passport
