Wednesday, May 19; Leaders: Wally Rayner and CJ Baker (Rainy River Resources), and Craig Ravnaas (OGS).
The Rainy River Gold Project lies within the 2.7 Ga Rainy River Greenstone Belt. It has an Indicated Resource of 55.6 Mt grading 1.24 g/t Au (2.2 M ounces Au) and an Inferred Resource of 64.0 Mt grading 0.88 g/t Au (1.8 M ounces Au). A potential volcanogenic massive sulphide and gold-bearing exhalite target is being explored at Off Lake, approximately 30 km northeast of the Rainy River project.

Trip 2 - Geology of Archean succession at Atikokan
Wednesday, May 19; Leaders: Phil Fralick (Lakehead University) and Denver Stone (OGS)
This trip will present new data on this famous area. During the first portion of the trip we will examine each of the units that form the succession. The afternoon will entail a detailed examination of the carbonate platform portion of the assemblage with special attention paid to stromatolites and pseudo-stromatolites.
*Requires overnight stay in Atikokan the night before the trip (Tuesday May 18).

Trip 3 - Structural geology along the Quetico fault
Wednesday May 19; Leaders: Howard Poulsen (Consultant) and Dyanna Czeck (UW-Milwaukee).
Examine structural geology along the Quetico Fault.

Trip 4 -Archean geology of Voyageurs National Park and Little America gold mine
Friday, May 21; Leader: Chris Hemstad (Boreal Explorations)
Geologic boat trip through Voyageurs National Park, including a stop at the historic Little America Island gold mine.

Trip 5 - Ash River neutrino detector laboratory and the Archean Vermilion Granitic Complex
Friday, May 21; Leaders: Mark Jirsa (MGS) and laboratory staff
Visit the new neutrino detector laboratory under construction in migmatitic rocks of the Vermilion Granitic Complex

Trip 6 - Transect through the Quetico-Wabigoon subprovince boundary
Saturday, May 22; Leaders: Mark Jirsa (MGS) and Chris Hemstad (Boreal Exploration)
Examine the transition zone between the Quetico and Wabigoon subprovinces.

Trip 7 - Mineral deposits of the Mine Centre – Rainy Lake area
Saturday, May 22; Leaders: Peter Hinz (OGS) and industry geologists.
This trip will focus on varied mineral deposits in the Archean greenstone belt near Mine Centre, including visits to MetalCORP Limited's North Rock Cu-Ni-PGE property, which also hosts the GUP diamond occurrence. Also included will be Q-Gold Resources Ltd.'s gold properties and Numax Resources Inc.'s orthomagmatic Fe-Ti-PGE property.

Trip 8 - Geology and environmental issues of the Steep Rock mine
Saturday, May 22; Leaders: Andrew Conly (Lakehead University), Rob Purden (Ministry of Natural Resources) and Lindsay Moore (Lakehead University)
This trip will outline the current environmental issues encountered at the Steep Rock mine site. The morning will provide participants an overview of the Steep Rock site, including the engineering marvels that were required to mine the iron ore. In the afternoon, participates will visit particular areas of environmental concern, where they will learn about the recent research into water quality and acid mine drainage issues at the Steeprock open pits, including remediation measures.
